The Assistant Manager supports daily store operations, helps manage employees and volunteers, oversees social media and marketing, and keeps things running smoothly when the Manager is away. This hands-on leadership role includes rotating between the front, floor, and back of shop — assisting​
customers, managing donations, overseeing cash handling, and keeping everything organized and customer-ready.
The Sales Associate supports the daily operations of the shop by providing excellent customer service, maintaining organization, and helping process donations. This active, team-oriented role rotates between the front, floor, and back of shop — assisting with sales at the register, stocking and arranging merchandise, sorting and pricing donations, and keeping the store clean, safe, and welcoming.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18+, a DOD ID cardholder with access to base, and eligible to work in the US. Management or retail experience preferred.
TIME COMMITMENT: Approximately 15-20 hours per week.

The Fort Shafter Thrift Shop is a not-for-profit entity run by the Hui South. Proceeds from the sales of the Thrift Shop are put back into the community through scholarships and welfare grants.

The Fort Shafter Thrift Shop employees and volunteers are excited to welcome the community and our Hui Members into our Ohana. Stop in and check us out. If you have free time on your hands, we are always in need of volunteers!
The Fort Shafter Thrift Shop is also open to the public. ​No military I.D. is needed to shop and take advantage of our special deals.

Donations
The Thrift Shop accepts donations in person during business hours Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
24/7 Drop Off Available
Our donations shed is open 24/7 accessible through a hinged window. Size appropriate, sealed, bagged, and/or boxed donations may be sent down the chute at any time.
Friendly Reminder
​In order to maintain proper health and cleaning procedures, please DO NOT leave items outside. They are often ruined by weather or animals. Your cooperation is appreciated.
